We’ve got tone goals for the new year!
You haven’t heard much from us in 2023. It’s not because we’ve gone out of business. We found ourselves stuck in a few sonic rabbit holes, and we just couldn’t stop engineering until we reached audio nirvana. We’ve been behind the scenes hard at work developing a ton of new gear that we will soon be adding to our catalog as the year progresses. Take a sneak peek of what’s to come in 2024!
Top Secret Gear
For early 2024, we expect to make a big announcement for one of our top secret pieces that we’ve been developing since July. We can’t say much about it right now, but if you are a fan of the sound of magnetic tape, we have something to take your breath away. It’s everything we’ve hoped it to become, and it’s truly unique in terms of how we approached this design. It has tone for all of the colors of the rainbow, and enough lights to give Clark Griswold a run for his money. Stay tuned for more info!
Pedal nerds unite!
We will soon be redesigning the website to accommodate our Elektrophonik Pedal Division boutique guitar pedals. From original designs, to workalikes that are modded and hot-rodded, we’ve meticulously designed these pedals for ultimate playability, feel, character, and tone. We’ve been getting rave reviews in the underground market, and we’re immensely excited to soon be offering these acclaimed pedals to everyone in search of the perfect tone.
Discrete Wizardry
We’ll also be welcoming the Elektrophonik Monolith, and Elektrophonik LBA. 100% original discrete opamps, designed from scratch. Starting from the ground up, we meticulously designed these for performance and sound quality. Each offering their own unique sonic fingerprint, we’re excited to toss these bad boys into some future gear! We’ve got ideas brewing… big ideas.
Elektrophonik Vintility
We were recently commissioned by one of the top recording studios in Sydney Australia to build a valve based microphone preamplifier, with a vintage vibe and massive tone. Their only specification was that it was portable, vibey, and robust. So we hit the books. We were immensely inspired by some unique topologies found in the “plug-in” style utility preamps of yesteryear, in the likes of RCA, Gates, and Telefunken. What we came up with ended up being a tone monster with loads of gain, and a unique topology. Each channel features 4 stages of valve tone that we extract from a pair of 12AY7 valves. They also utilize super secret input transformers, and our custom made output transformers from Crimson Audio, where we are able to incorporate our 100% Class A push-pull topology (yes, it’s a real thing). Each channel also features ultra quiet soft-start phantom power, and phase reversal switch. For 2024, we’ve put into motion a production model of the same prototype circuit that we originally designed, but with a different form factor than the original. The new design will be rack mountable, have more gain control, an input pad as well as many other refinements to make it not only usable, but desirable in any recording situation.
Elektrophonik EVE
We have some revisions we’ll be working on for the EVE circuit. Most of which are boring, like a revised power supply, and a slight rework of our PCB’s to make them easier to assemble. No worries though, the tone will still remain king! Speaking of the king, spotted one in the wild, mixed in with some other incredible equipment. Not to boast, but we noticed it’s at the top of the tone-chain… It could be at the top of yours also!
