Refund and Returns Policy

Dave has worked in the audio servicing industry for over 2 decades. So he get’s it. Sometimes good gear can go bad, no matter how robust it is. He’s seen it all. And that’s why we’re here to help.

Please understand that we’re a small operation. Every piece of gear is handmade just for you and no one else. Accommodating a return/refund for handmade equipment is very difficult. We please ask you to understand that service is our priority, and we will do everthing within our power to make sure you have a fully functioning piece of equipment that was made just for you. Support is free for as long as you own the product.

Warranty

Tubes or valves are considered a consumable item, and we need to put these in a different category than our gear. While we select top quality tubes in our builds, and rigorously test them, we simply cannot put a guarantee on something that someone else made. Sadly, they don’t last forever. We will however extend the expectations we have for ourselves, that you should have a functional unit out of the box. Therefore we grant a 90-day warranty on the tubes that are inside of your gear. If it is determined that a tube is faulty, we will send a replacement tube of the same type we used originally. Anything outside of that would be up for you to make accommodations for, and we can’t be held liable.

Mechanical components like pots, and switches also don’t last forever. They are only rated for a certain lifecycle. While we try to choose the best components to stand the test of time, they won’t last forever. But, lucky for you, we guarantee them for 1-year under our normal warranty.

Our Gear is covered under a 1-year manufacturers warranty. Your only cost is shipping. We take pride in our craftsmanship, and strive to make gear that will last the ages. No, it doesn’t mean that you just get to return it and replace it for a brand new one. That’s not how electrons work. Remember, this gear is made just for you. We will however do our best to accommodate servicing your unit to get it back to working order in case of a fault in our craftsmanship.

Parts and labor are free under this 1-year warranty period.

What isn’t covered

Shipping goods for service or repair is your responsibility. Being a small operation, we cover the expensive stuff like parts and labor. It’s only fair.

We can only guarantee our equipment will work under normal operating conditions. We cannot warranty against any type of misuse or neglect, whether intentional or unintentional. But it doesn’t mean we can’t help. We will certainly do everything in our power to make sure that the gear made just for you, is back up and running.

We cannot be held liable for any other non-Elektrophonik gear under any circumstance.

And last but not least, we don’t, and will never cover costs for intangible or hypothetical situations like “lost time and wages”, or “pain and suffering”. Your business is up to you to manage. Sorry.
